It's weird. Yesterday just about all my Houston friends logged off throughout the day and didn't log back on.
Most of them talked about leaving town.
Is there a holiday this weekend that I don't know about?
Go (as far away as fast as possible from) Houston Day or something? Maybe Go (as far away as fast as possible from) Houston Weekend?

Uhm...have you heard about Rita?
Yeah. Looking for ways to be levitous about it. I've been glued to it since they adjusted the trajectory.
Ah. Having been in a backcountry cabin for 4 days, I was incredulous that I could know more about Rita than you. Should've known better.
Was a fun trip. Drove to Wichita Kansas (normally a 10-12 hour trip depending on traffic and how long you stop for). Took us around 18 hours, the first 6 was from Rosenberg to Brenham.
Good thing our car got excelent gas mileage, you didn't see a station that had gas without a line a mile long (literally) waiting to use it until after that.
17 hours from my house to my aunt and uncle's in Duncanville by way of Telephone road to downtown to the I-45 north HOV lane (total time 1 hour), the 5-mile stretch from the end of the HOV lane to highway 242 just north of the Woodlands (5 hours), 242 to 1488 to something-or-other to 1486 to 105 to highway 6 (2 hours, over 1 hour from just trying to get food at the Whataburger-From-Hell on 242), 2 hour pit stop in College Station so that Tammy can sleep for an hour in the parking lot of a hotel before driving on, and then 3.5 hours up 6 to Waco, a half-hour stop in Waco for lunch, and then 1.5 hours up 35 to Duncanville.
Total time for me without sleep: 7 am Wed morning to 4 pm Thurs afternoon: 33 hours.
