Facts about America West Airlines:

• They are in talks with U.S. Airways about a merger. Assuming that it goes through (I think now it's just up to regulators), they will be dropping the America West name. The fact that a year from now they won't have a brand name to protect probably doesn't give them much incentive to provide good service. I think that might explain a lot of what has been going on.
• US Airways actually rates below America West, both in the bottom third of airlines.
• America West Airlines Sucks
• They're the only ones that leave Salt Lake when I need out. So it looks like I'm going to have to either pay more with Continental or take an extra half-day off. Boo hiss.
• I've thought about writing in to complain, but all they usually give you is money on your next flight. I sincerely doubt that there will be a "next flight," so the point is rendered somewhat moot.
