Eel made a quick trip to the post office on my behalf today to send the appropriate information to
SIBOC to get my credit cleared. Since they claim not to have recieved my last one, I wanted this one sent by certified mail.
When you send something by certified mail with a receipt request, the recipient signs it and it gets sent back to you so that you have proof that they got it.
Here's the thing, though: In the three certified letters I've ever sent, I have not once ever gotten a receipt back. Never. I know that they've recieved it since they respond to it or whatever, but if the whole point of the exercise is to have proof that you sent it and they recieved it, I never actually get said proof.
It's still worth it, though. If they have to sign for it, they theoretically know that they can't say that they didn't recieve it.
I just find it very strange that I never actually get the receipt back.
Now they all know your dirty little secret and can claim that never receive anything.

Yeah, but only if they read what I write. Wonderfully, no one outside my immediate circle of friends seems to, so I'm all set! :)
Comment spam is an ongoing problems that we're trying to address. Previously we required people to create accounts and log in. I am thankful to say that is no longer the case. We're giving Captcha another try and are playing around with a text-based Q&A variant of Captcha. So bear with us as we try to figure out how to best get a handle ont he problem.
