Back in the Real World
R. Alex Whitlock
Rob Booth kindly
points out that this year's CMA actually has
real country artists on it*.
In other words, Shania Twain and Faith Hill were
shut out.
I'm a little sorry that Keith Urban was, but only because he made a hit out of Radney Foster's "Raining on Sunday" which has always been a favorite (note: Foster's version is better).
So everyone, let us shed a tear for
Miss Twain.
Okay, done now...
*- This statement does not imply nor should it be construed as meaning that what comes out of any quarter of Nashville radio absent a long, grueling regional career can rightfully be called "country music." I'm working off a piss-poor grading curve here, folks.
UPDATE (9/1/3):
More Shania Twain goodness... if you can put "good" and "Shania Twain" in the same sentence, anyway...

Observations

Darryl Worley talking about the comeback of real country and "serious" music was my favorite part.
He has pretty biceps. Makes me want to go buy some tampons.

You're freaks. The lot o' ya.
Funny freaks. Freaks nonetheless.
And Bin Laden DOES too rhyme with forgotten!

I'd have to agree with Callie on Bin Laden and Forgotten.
After all, Cross Canadian Ragweed uses it in "The President Song" so it must be a rhyme....

Darryl Worley needed a co-writer to come up with those lines in "his" song. :)
