The Problem With Public School
R. Alex Whitlock
This is perhaps the most succinct description of one of the many things wrong with our public school system right here:
"The teachers are afraid of the principal, the principal is afraid of the superintendent, the superintendent is afraid of the parents, the parents are afraid of the kids, and the kids are afraid of NOBODY."
Cited by someone named Vicki at Dustbury's
comments forum.
I have something rather strong to say about the failure to fail kids, but I'll have to get to that later.

Observations

That one's been around since *I* was in school. And that, buddy, was a *long* time ago.

I'm workin on a speech for my comm class. My speech is about problem in problem, and i'm discussin' the size of the classes, the lack of interest from the teacher and students and just the lack of support from the public. If you can help me with any information or any new idea that you think I can use please send it my way.

We're giving Captcha another try and are playing around with a text-based Q&A variant of Captcha. So bear with us as we try to figure out how to best get a handle ont he problem. Please note that any comment on a post more than 30 days old will go into the moderation queue, where I will get to it when I can which could be once a week.
