I've
commented on it in the past, but historically speaking I've been drawn to partners with political convictions that are opposed to mine. It can make things either more difficult or interesting in a relationship depending on the nature of the disagreements. In some cases we seem invariably opposed. Both Ora and Audrey, for instance, voted for Dole in 1996 when I voted for Clinton, but as I've moved to the right they have found themselves voting to the left of the Democratic Party. Naturally, it would be unlikely to find someone who shares my views across the board, but the extent to which I attract and am attracted to lefties is statistically odd and I have graphical proof.

Bush is blue, Gore is red, and Nader is green. So what's wrong with this picture?
I should however, note a few disclaimers. First, the term "sorta" designates someone that was interested in me and I in them at the same time (and neither of us were beholden to someone else). In some cases for a variety of reasons, it didn't work out. My romantic history, for those of you unfamiliar, is a large connection of near-misses, almost-couplings, and casual dating that never got serious. If I were to include only those I was in a bonafide relationship with, my list would only have a couple there and the graphs would not look nearly as neat.
There are also others that are not included, primarily because either (a) they don't hold particularly strong political views or (b) they didn't feel inclined to share them with me.
Lastly, I included a couple people that for one reason or another did not or could not vote. Jessica was a Democrat, Angela hated Bush passionately (though is now an ardent Republican, strangely enough), and Rosalinda told me during a conversation that she wishes she could have voted for Nader.
